  1. create a filter on the left side on what kind of accom you’re looking for like 1 bedroom city center so it only uses that to calculate monthly cost.

  2. I find grocery prices to be wrong. Not sure how it can be fixed in an automated manner since Numbeo sucks but its either underestimating by 20% or by a lot. E.g Toronto underestimating by 20-25%. Medellin underestimating by like 100-200% lol.

  3. Add map view

  4. Add filters for whats important to someone in a city, e.g thriving nightlife, lots of nature and hikes, etc etc

  5. Enable a comment section for each city where members can leave reviews.

  6. Some kind of language proficiency filter. Maybe start with just english and have a ranking/filter based on locals ability to communicate in english like poor, modest, good, excellent.

    1. Could be possible, will require a lot of work from us to do it at this point so probably will not do this any time soon.

    2. Numbeo is best data source that we found out there, we also cross it with Expatistan. Usually costs are off either because the data is bad or because the formula we use does not represent your lifestyle. If you go to the breakdown page of medellin for example are these numbers wrong for you or just the total? Will help me understand whether the issue is with the data itself or the formula.

    3. On the way, will roll it out in next few weeks, see ticket here

    4. We have ticket to filter for places that are near the beach, but tbh you gave me a really good idea - we will add city guides and al include filters for some of the information that will be provided there. Tracking this here

    5. Working on this right now - will be released in a week or two

    6. There’s an existing ticket for this here and lots of people voted for it actually, I will see how I can include this information as part of the larger city guide feature.

      thanks for the reply and lovely to hear most of these are already under way. In regards to #2: I spot checked 3-4 items and the prices listed are not terribly off except cheese, I dont know any kind of cheese here thats $5 per 1kg. So I think the issue must be mostly with the formula. I find my monthly grocery cost in Medellin much higher than $230. If you’re using just that limited number of items in the list, I can see how it would be off cause a lot isnt there. No vegetables besides maybe lettuce, there is no yogurt in this list, no coffee powder, etc.

    I understand point #6 might be a challenge to implement cause not sure if there is even a source for this that would be accurate, maybe members can rate this one based on their experience.

      Yeah I checked this for little bit and didn’t find any good data source immediately. Will dig deeper and I’m sure I can find something

      In general we wanna avoid anything related to crowdsourcing info since it brings tons of challenges related to managing this information, preventing spam, etc. We prefer to get data directly from crowdsourced websites
